Daddies are awesome

Jack Spruill
12/5/1927 - 8/16/2009

Sunday would have been my dad's 83rd birthday. Oh how I miss him! He was the best dad in the entire universe. Always made me feel special. He would tell me I looked beautiful even when his eyesight started to go... I really don't have the words for how rad my dad was!
He was my hero. He taught me to be the person I am today. He led by example and was always true to himself.

What a sense of humor too!!! Oh dad, I miss you. I wish you were here right now. I could really use your advice.
I love and miss you implicitley Pop.

Giving Thanks to the non-traditional...

Thanksgiving 2010 was the best so far! Seriously. The best Thanksgiving I have ever had... EVER in my 34 years of being on this earth.

  • Dinner at Buca Di Beppo (Brea) with my husband and kids. The food is great and the service is better! Our servers name was Tom. Such a great attitude and so personable.

  • All you can bowl for $10.00. 300 Bowling in Anaheim is killer! Great atmosphere. Nice employees, music, lounges, full bar, private lanes, and a superior menu.

  • Watch The Blues Brothers with my husband and kids. No explanation necessary!!

Ummmmmmmmmm... Awesome!

Our non-traditional Thanksgiving is now going to be our tradition! No longer will we have to endure the relentless mouth of those who think they know everything there is to know about everything. No longer will we have to drive to anyones house. Do you know how awesomely amazing that is?! Do you?!?! Well, maybe... I'm sure all families are disfunctional. Mine is most definitely. Don't get me wrong. I love my family, wellmost of them anyway. Those who know me know who I can live without:)

So today I reflect and enjoy the no drama zone.

To Kyle with love...

Where do I start? KD... the original.
I love you. I miss you. I dream about you. I talk to you.

I am writing this so that I can let go. I have to...

Those 15 years were some of the highest and lowest of my life. As with anything, looking back I focus on the positive and more light-hearted memories.

When you died, I was obliterated. So were the kids. You left us bereft of anything but sadness.

I am not going to go into details, its really none of anyones business but ours. I have been mad, sad, and glad... does that make sense? Mad that you died. Sad that you are missing out on the kids growing up. Glad that you are finally at peace and that your inner demons can no longer beat you down.

No one is perfect. We all have our flaws. I am going to leave it at that...

I now have to let you go. I hope your spirit is at peace and on the right path.
I smell you add the oddest times. I feel your presence when I talk to you. I know you are looking down and watching over the kids to make sure they are allright.

That song will forever hold special meaning.

I love you. I miss you. I dream of you. I talk to you.

Your place in my heart is forever.
With that I set myself free to be happy. To live and love implicitely.

Favs

My mind is full of things I am thankful for... Family, friends, my job!
On the more frivolous side, I have things that inspire me, which in turn I am thankful for too.
Music, Art, Fashion, Movies... these give the warm fuzzies to me and inspire me to be awesome!

Music-

Faith No More:
They are the epitomy of awesome. I have been a fan since I was 12. Geek out, totally! and I don't care! I looooooove me some Mike Patton and the rest of the crew kickin' ass. J'taime FNM! I have honestly seen almost every show they have played since 1990 until they broke up. I missed the first reunion tour due to having no $$$... The fact that they are touring again and that my awesome and amazing husband got me tickets for my birthday, well there are no words.

Turbonegro:
As a member of Turbojugend Costa Mesa and President of Turbojugend Brea, I am devoted to the gods of party!

Others that I cannot live without...
Old Metallica, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Slayer, Hank the III, Electric Frankenstein! This list could go on for days.

Movies-

The Blues Brothers:
Everyone who knows me, knows how much I LOVE Jake and Elwood... sigh. The feel of the entire movie is so cool. I quote this movie incessantly. In fact I have passed on the love to my children. How's that for awesome?!?!

True Romance, Kentucky Fried Movie, Christmas Vacation, Harry Potter... They all make me happy. I have so many more, too many to list.

Art-

Sylvia Ji:
What else can I say? Her art speaks for itself! So insanely talented...
December 11, 2010 is her next solo exhibition at Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City, CA. Check it out!!!

Glimt, Bosch, Esher among others are so beautiful and inspiring.

say what?!?!

Yes... it's true. I couldn't believe it when I found out. Buffalo Hump is actually a medical condition.

I was and am still am on the floor laughing about this... Not at the people suffering from it of course. Bad kharma and all.

I also found out that Buffalo Hump was the name of a Cheyanne Indian Chief in the late 1800's.

The internet is an amazing place I swear!

On to another subject then yes?? I feel this one has worn out its welcome...

The story behind the name

I know the name is enigmatic... what can I say?
It's an inside joke between my co-worker and I. There are actually quite a few inside jokes or secret words we use in our office. Buffalo Hump happens to be the most side-splitting, belly holding, laugh till you cry inducing thus far.

Welcome to my blog. I may not post everyday, it's not like I'm getting paid to do this. I meerly need an outlet for some of the thoughts inside my head. Consider this an over-flow if you will into the mind of me... Now thats a scary thought.

Stay tight
